Domains
Add a domain you own to Velumi and we manage its DNS for you. You point your domain's nameservers at Velumi once, and from then on every DNS record — for your sites, email, and anything else — is managed from the dashboard.
Velumi-managed DNS runs on Cloudflare behind the scenes. You don't need a Cloudflare account, and you never log in to one — everything is managed from the Velumi dashboard.
How it works
There are two distinct steps, and it helps to keep them separate in your head:
- Add the domain (this section) — register your domain with Velumi and switch its nameservers. This makes Velumi the authoritative DNS provider for the whole domain.
- Attach it to an environment (Custom domains) — tell a specific environment to serve traffic for a hostname under that domain, e.g.
app.example.com.
You add a domain once, then attach as many hostnames from it to as many environments as you like.
In this section
- Add a domain — register a domain and switch its nameservers
- DNS records — manage A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, and SRV records
- Attach a domain to an environment — serve a hostname from one of your environments
- Remove a domain — stop managing a domain's DNS
- Troubleshooting — propagation, nameserver checks, and common issues
Just want a live URL with no setup? Every environment gets a free
*.velumi.dev address automatically — no domain required. Custom domains are for when you want to serve your own brand.
